Welcome to the Brentwood and District Metal Detecting Club

The BDMDC Club was founded back in the 1970’s in the early days of the hobby. Our aim is to recover, research, preserve, record and display coins and artefacts from Pre-Roman times to the present day.

Land Required!

Do you have any land our Club can search?

All members have public liability insurance.

Members happily pay to detect and as we are not a business all money taken is given to the landowner.

Finds of significant value are split 50/50 between the finder and landowner.

The Club has been raising money for farmers and charities throughout Essex and the Home Counties for many years.

Recent charities supported include Helen Rollason Cancer Charity, Royal British Legion, Barrow Farm RDA, St Giles Church, Hopefield Animal Sanctuary and St Clare Hospice to name but a few.

If you have land you are happy for us to detect on please contact us via the button below.

Lost Wedding Ring

Just wanted to say again how thankful and happy we are to have Luke’s ring back! Have just regaled my parents with the story and they are equally relieved and so grateful to have a family heirloom back!

Lost Ring

I am pleased to let you know that Lee did an excellent job and found my ring after only 5 minutes, very impressive and I’m obviously over the moon. I would like to also thank you for playing your part. Regards, Dave

Lost Ring

I would like to thank you for your kind and considerate efforts in finding my lost signet ring. It has great sentimental value and it was such a relief to me when it was found. Thank you again, Brian

Charity Work Testimonial

Dear Karen,

Many thanks to you and your club members for the very generous donation of £720 to our Royal British Legion Poppy Pin Appeal. This represents a tremendous boost to the funds we are able to donate to RBL.

Richard Marriage showed us some of the wonderful items that you uncovered during what appears to have been a highly successful day.

Please find enclosed a sample of our Poppy pin.

Perhaps at some point in the distant future it will be found by detectorists who will puzzle over its origins.

Yours Faithfully,

David Brunning
