Mark Pallett (Vice Chairman)

Collecting things of interest has always been my passion since I was ten years old. I started metal detecting and Victorian dump digging when I was fourteen years of age on my parents farmland and have continued virtually uninterrupted since then.

Over the years I have unearthed some wonderful objects, one of my favourites being an enamelled Le Tene style Iron Age terret ring measuring four inches in diameter. I have found coins from every era, Iron Age, Roman, Saxon, Medieval, Tudor and have been lucky enough to find gold as well as silver.

I have built up a lot of knowledge and am happy to help our members in the identifying of their finds so please come and find me on Club nights if you need help although I am sometimes busy when the talks are in progress due to showing images on the screen.
